Joel grew up in the small town of Elmira, New York, the Father of 9 kids. He decided to attend Alfred State College for Mechanical Engineering Technology after he graduated from high school. He was fascinated by machinery, and after earning his Associates Degree at Alfred, decided to continue his education at Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT), graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology. His extensive work history includes 11 years in manufacturing, 10 years with NYSEG including Gas Field Planner, Engineer, and 19 years in the Consulting field including stints as the VP of Operations with Corning Natural Gas, Dominion Transmission Co., and Permitting Coordinator & Manager of Engineering & Construction for Chesapeake Energy Midstream Partners/Access Midstream Partners along with starting two companies (the most recent being Integrity Engineering). He joined JHA Companies in 2018 as a Senior Project Manager for our Natural Gas Engineering team, and has been working on exciting changes within the renewable energy field on anaerobic digestion advances and Renewable Natural Gas. He has extensive experience with HDD (Horizontal Directional Drilling), Gas Transmission and Distribution Systems, Permitting, Inter-connection Design, and Meter and Regulator Stations. You might not know this, but he also has experience in Machine Design and Fire Fighting (with over 40 years of service with numerous volunteer fire departments)! He is your go-to guy if you need project help on anything natural gas related, and we are so glad to have him at JHA!
