SHOEMAKER-SAXE SIGNATURE PROJECT

Client: Chesapeake Energy
Location: Colley Township, Sullivan County, PA
Services: Construction Stakeout, ESCGP Permitting, Well Plats

Chesapeake Energy retained JHA Companies to assist with constructing an oil and gas well pad in Sullivan County. For this 2020 project, JHA began the Shoemaker-Saxe project by permitting the ESCGP3 through the Department of Environmental Protection. JHA worked closely with Chesapeake Energy on where they wanted to put the site and what they envisioned the lay of the land to be. JHA came back to them with a sketch plan, created with LIDAR contouring before laying it out in CAD. Chesapeake Energy was presented with different options to see which had less amount of grading and worked with construction cost.

Once approved, JHA began working on the full site design, which included infiltration testing and looking for potential wetlands, before JHA began stormwater and site design. Once these steps were approved by the client, JHA completed well plats for the site, which allowed
Chesapeake Energy to drill and collect gas. To ensure Chesapeake Energy’s satisfaction with the design layout, JHA did a pipe analysis to reevaluate stormwater runoff in order to satisfy the client’s and landowner’s concerns.

Chesapeake Energy commented, “I’m grateful for him [Caleb] and your company’s continued commitment to CHK.”
