JHA Companies, working with Integrity Engineering, PLLC, was asked to provide a High Definition Laser Scan (HDS) of an existing natural gas pipe fabrication at a natural gas compressor site in Auburn Township, Susquehanna County, PA. The three-dimensional (3D) CAD file was used for design and a check of a new additional natural gas pipeline being tied into the existing pipe fabrication.
JHA Companies provided land surveying services to set site control using GPS technology in order to correlate the HDS with State Plane Coordinate System and NAVD88 elevations. Four (4) separate laser scans were performed to locate all necessary objects.
A JHA technician merged the four (4) laser scans to provide one large point cloud. The point cloud was then cleaned of unwanted data and translated to State Plane Coordinate System.
Client-requested objects were then modeled to provide a 3D object for design. These objects were exported to a CAD file for further clarification. In addition to the CAD file, a True View (interactive online viewer) was provided to the Client for any future work at this location.
