JHA Companies was proud to be one of the local companies selected by the Bluestone Brewing Company for the development of their beloved brewery. JHA was retained to prepare the land development of the Brewery on Pitney Street which utilized Pennsylvania bluestone, native to the region, which also gave the design a rustic, yet high-quality aesthetic.
JHA provided professional land surveying services, including topographic surveying, to locate existing features and generate contours. JHA survey crews also located existing utilities in order to design service connections to water, sewer, electric and gas mains near the site. The adjacent road system was also surveyed for inclusion in the project driveway application.
Site engineering services included the preparation of land development documents necessary for approval of the project by the Borough, County Planning Commission, and PennDOT. Documentation included the County Land Development application and drawings, an Erosion and Sediment Control Plan, a Stormwater Management Plan, and a PennDOT Highway Occupancy Plan. The site design included drainage design that was unobtrusive and utilized the building setback area to allow for an efficient use of the site.
Project permitting included the approval of the Erosion and Sediment Control Plan, the Highway Occupancy Permit and Site Land Development Plan. The facility location also needed to be approved by the Borough for compliance with the Zoning Ordinance. JHA prepared all of the project site applications and attended Borough and County meetings in order to receive project approval. All permits were obtained, and the facility is in operation.
