Levin Marling grew up in Wheeling, West Virginia and attended Wheeling Park High School until his graduation in 2009. After high school, Levin went directly to West Virginia University for two years before transferring to Belmont College. In 2014, he graduated from Belmont College with an Associate’s in Civil Engineering. Did you know that Levin earned his degree on Thursday and started at JHA that following Monday? He has been with JHA Companies for almost 9 years now! Currently as a Survey Technician, Levin decided back in the fall of 2018 to attend the University of Akron, where he is working towards his surveying licensure. He will be graduating from the University in May, so make sure to congratulate him the next time you see him! Levin really took to surveying by chance but has ended up loving it. He was never an outdoorsy person considering he grew up in the city until he took a leap of faith after graduation and ended up finding the perfect fit for himself.
Levin’s favorite core value at JHA is People Matter Most. This one resonates with him due to how Joe handled the Covid-19 lockdown for all team members. Everyone stayed employed as Team Leads made it possible to work from home by taking the time to invest in the company. This included training people to do different tasks or improve what they already do while they made sure everyone had work. Levin also enjoys working out of the Ohio location. Due to its size, there is a great comradery among the team there. Levin and Rich Grimes have become good friends outside of work since they have been working together since day one.
In the past 9 years, Levin has seen the company grow immensely. When he first started at JHA, they were mainly working in oil and gas, and now we have many other sectors that provide services outside of our beginning. JHA put their eggs in other baskets which has helped the company grow. Levin has also appreciated seeing the growth within team members in the company as well as the overall company growth. He noted that JHA takes the time to develop people within the company into other roles instead of simply hiring outside the company.
Outside of work, Levin has been married to his wife, Jaclyn, for 7 years and they have been together for a total of 11 years. Together, they have a son named Anthony who is 18 months old. When Levin is not working or doing schoolwork, he spends all of his time with the two of them. Levin and Jaclyn especially love taking Anthony to the park when the weather is nice. Levin also loves Sunday football and Marvel. He and his wife enjoy collecting comic books and Levin has a hefty collection of 1,500 comic books!
