Anja Whitehead is the smiling face you see when you step into the Montrose location. In her role as Marketing Specialist for JHA, Anja can be found hard at work putting together social media posts and videos, taking photos of team members, and representing JHA at marketing & community events. Before finding her place at JHA, Anja grew up in Susquehanna County, PA, where she started her own photography business at 16, which she still runs today. Upon her high school graduation, Anja began her college journey at East Stroudsburg University. There, Anja earned her degree in Digital Media and Technology, where she focused on Photography and Videography. She added to her tremendous workload by also earning a minor in Communications before she graduated in May of 2018. Her hard work was recognized by the university when she was awarded the Student Leadership Award at graduation. Anja began working for WBRE Eyewitness News out of Wilkes-Barre as a television reporter in September of 2018. For two years, Anja could be found in all types of locations as a morning news reporter where she was assigned to feature stories along with breaking news. One of her favorite segments was Pep Rally Friday, where students would have a pep rally at 5am for the broadcast. Anja had a streak with this segment; every school that had a pep rally with her went on to win their game that evening.
After two years in the business, Anja realized News was not her true passion and wanted to use her skills and talents in a different way. This is when she decided to join the JHA team in September of 2020! She started as the Administrative Assistant in Montrose and grew into her new current role as Marketing Specialist. She is the one behind the social media posts, content creation, and finding new ways to promote JHA. When Anja is not scheduling posts for the week, Anja can be found with her two cats, Gatsby and Huck. If you’re wondering, yes, Anja was inspired by The Great Gatsby and Huck Finn for her cats’ names. Her love of travel began when she studied abroad in Australia. After that, she continued her travels to 9 different countries: Italy, Australia, Germany, France, Belgium, Canada, Vatican City, United Kingdom, and the Netherlands. When Anja stays local, she loves to go kayaking and hiking in the summer and snowboarding in the winter. And when the weather is too extreme, Anja can also be found with a good book and her cats by her side.
What would your perfect workday include?
Working on videos all day and exchanging marketing ideas with the team.

Communication is Key: Without communication, important tasks might not be handled properly. If we can communicate our needs to one another we can get so much more accomplished.
What is your favorite possession?
My drum stick that I caught after a Simple Plan concert that was signed by the band afterwards at their meet and greet!
What is guaranteed to make your laugh?
The joke, “Why are bees hairs so sticky? Because they use honeycombs!”!
What is your greatest accomplishment?
I’d say my greatest accomplishment is how I have never let anything get in the way of my dreams and passions. If I set my mind to something, it will get done. No matter what it takes!
