After previous successful collaborations with a local surgery center, JHA was invited to assist in the development of permit drawings for interior renovations to a proposed outpatient facility in Eynon, PA. The scope of work focused specifically on the renovation of the facility’s processing room—an essential component in maintaining sterilization standards for surgical operations.

What specific challenges did you face during this project, and how did JHA Companies solve them?

Working closely with the medical group’s administrative leadership, the practicing doctor, and the project’s general contractor, JHA developed a design that reflected current standards for outpatient surgical practices. The design aimed to optimize workflow efficiency and compliance with healthcare regulations, while supporting modern sterilization equipment and infection control protocols. The permitting process was coordinated directly with the Pennsylvania Department of Health, ensuring the proposed modifications met the necessary healthcare facility guidelines and operational requirements. While the project was ultimately not constructed, it demonstrated JHA’s depth of experience in healthcare design, regulatory navigation, and technical coordination for highly specialized medical environments.
